Minty Freshness

I am off on my hols in a few hours, heading to South Africa to see the local branches of the Goggins family.

Once on board the plane I am tempted to have a chat with the pilot to see if they would be willing to make an unscheduled stop at Nouakchott International so we can all head to a club and dance the night away to the sounds of Noura Mint Seymali - sounds like these two smashes from her 2016 album "Arbina", available from Glitterbeat.

"Ghlana"- Noura Mint Seymali

"Suedi Koum" - Noura Mint Seymali

Back at the end of month. Until then, stay groovy.

  1. Have a great holiday, Ernie.

Blimey, I'd completely forgotten that particular 80's "classic".

it's worth an ask, go for it, what's the worst that could happen?

  3. AT 3 mins 44 that first track is far too short

  4. Now listening to the album Tzenni, it's got some tremendous tracks on it

  5. Looks like I've missed take off again, so here's hoping you had a fantastic time in South Africa, assuming you're reading this on your return.

A great pair of tunes to sign off with, I will check out more. A lazy comparison (hey, it's 6.30 in the morning here) but a collaboration between Noura Mint Seymali and Natasha Atlas would sound pretty great to these ears.

  7. I'm finally discovering your blog just as you head off on your hols. Hope the trip is amazing and that you catch up with extended family.

To repeat what Rol said, I too had forgotten about that 80s "classic", but found it strangely comforting - memories of simpler times.
