Miniature Namesakes

Rol over at My Top Ten is responsible for two of my favourite recurring blog series - 'Saturday Snapshots', where you pit your wits against his fiendish clues to work out the connection, and 'Namesakes' on Tuesdays.

As the title suggests, in 'Namesakes' Rol tracks down clips of different acts with the same name. Its such a simple idea it makes you wonder why you didn't think of it yourself (ahem).

By way of a tribute this post features namesakes called Lambchop, but unlike Rol I don't have the patience to track down loads of them so you are just getting two.

"Your F***ing Sunny Day" - Lambchop

"Superstar In France" - Lambchop

Both tracks by Lambchop #1 come from their 1997 album "Thriller". I'm told that has a namesake as well.

  1. Are you claiming the title Namesakes in a shameless power grab, for the safety and security of the land of 27Leggies?

    1. Yes. 27Leggies is being assailed on all sides. Further evidence will be presented on Friday.

And I would consider it Reclaiming not claiming.

  2. Lambchop was also the nickname of a legendarily eccentric Bob Dylan fan, who for many years managed to buy front row seats for every single gig on neverending tour after neverending tour. He became such a regular fixture that Bob actually spoke to him from the stage once in 1996, an occasion famous in Dylan lore.

The two Lambchop tunes are terrific by the way.

  3. Lambchop is on my longlist. But apart from Kurt and Shari, there's very slim pickings.

I actually have a Michael Jackson Namesakes half written, but I'm saving it till his biopic comes out later this year.
