Mouths? Souls? Buckets? You can't rely on anything these days.
"Your Mouth's Got A Hole In It" - Piano Red
"My Soul's Got A Hole In It" - Howard Tate
"My Bucket's Got A Hole In It" - Hank Williams
I was unable to find an original clip of Bernard Cribbins' "Hole In The Ground", and "Hole In My Shoe" is ruled out on the grounds of good taste, so you're getting this instead.

To show I still like your puns what about The Hole of the Moon?
ReplyDeleteGreat minds. That was my back up clip if I hadn't come across these hillbillies
DeleteJust to point out that Stewie Griffin did a fab cover of "Theres A Hole In The Bottom Of The Sea"

The hillbilly version could definitely have been improved by the addition of the "birthday cake for Mr Cohen" verse
DeleteI would normally let these things pass (and excuse my ignorance or naievety if I'm missing something blindingly obvious) but how come Hole In My Shoe is ruled out on taste grounds?
ReplyDeleteI should have clarified. The only clips of 'Hole in my Shoe' being performed I could find on YouTube were of the Neil version, which I hope anyone would find hard to defend. That said, I'm not particularly keen on the original either - the Traffic Band had many finer moments in my humble opinion
