The Long Goodbye: Part 12

Part 12 of our Grand Tour, and this time we are off to Greece. For the last six or seven years I have been lucky enough to get to Athens a couple of times a year for work, and I usually manage to extend my stay. It's one of my favourite cities, with a good music scene.

On one trip I found myself performing Neil Sedaka's "Oh Carol" with a bouzouki band to an audience of representatives of the local transport union. But that is another story, and probably not an example of the good music scene, judging by the union reps' reaction. Better to leave it to the professionals.

"Rain And Tears" - Aphrodite's Child

"Ti Simveni" - Nostradamus

"Zw" - Dimitra Galani

"Terma To Dialeimma (I Mpampesa)" - Magic de Spell

"Chalasia" - Villagers of Ioannina City

    1. At the end of the medley the bouzouki boys do Zorba's Dance - the combination of that and Nana made this a "must have"

  2. Re. bemused local audiences in foreign climes, CharityChic has a tale of dancing and removing clothes, as part of a trio, in a small French village's summer fete

  3. I'm disappointed that the videos are not completely preposterous. Those germans last week set a high bar in ridiculousness

  4. Some nice tunes there (Aphrodite's Child go without saying of course) I particularly liked Nostradamus and Dimitra Galani which I've nabbed (money on its way to charity of course). Vid 2 was a great song too. Was about to pass on Nana when I saw the reference to Zorba's Dance so I just had to play through the whole 6 mins 42! Wonderful
