Brooklyn band Florist have been attracting some florid critical acclaim in recent years thanks to albums like 2025's "Jellywish". For example:

If you are intrigued but wary why not give "We Have Been This Way Forever" a go. It was their first release back in 2013 which they have kindly made available on a "name your own price" basis on Bandcamp.
